Within the scope of PCA accreditation No. AB 033 and OIB No. 58/MON/2023, the Footwear Testing Laboratory performs tests of the following products:

  • Outsole and upper materials, including solid and microcellular rubbers, plasticized polyvinyl chloride, thermoplastic rubbers, solid and foamed polyurethanes, and EVA copolymers.
  • Footwear components and materials for footwear components, including toe caps, metallic and non-metallic penetration-resistant inserts, soles, and slide fasteners (zippers).
  • Occupational footwear (safety, professional, and protective footwear), tested in accordance with the requirements of PN-EN ISO 20344–20347 and PN-EN 15090 (firefighter footwear).

OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF ACCREDITATION, THE FOOTWEAR TESTING LABORATORY ALSO PERFORMS TESTS OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Women’s and men’s casual footwear
  • Children’s footwear
  • Footwear components: heels and stiffeners

WE ALSO OFFER CONSULTANCY SERVICES COVERING ALL TYPES OF FOOTWEAR CONSULTANCY SERVICES COVER IN PARTICULAR:

  • Selection of materials,
  • Applied manufacturing technologies,
  • Correctness of footwear design and construction,
  • Methods for assessment of materials and finished footwear,
  • Testing required to obtain certifications,
  • Applicable standards and regulations.

SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES OF THE LABORATORIES

  • Performing tests for the needs of external clients and organizational units of Łukasiewicz–ŁIT;
  • Carrying out research tasks within statutory activity; Co-participation in the preparation of applications for funding of research projects;
  • Implementation of tasks resulting from the Łukasiewicz–ŁIT scientific and research work plan;
  • Maintaining and continuously improving the effectiveness of the management system implemented;
  • Development of new in-house test procedures;
  • Continuous professional development of staff through participation in the management system and technical training;
  • Organization of and participation in interlaboratory comparisons and proficiency testing, both national and international;
  • Implementation of tasks arising from the contract concluded between the Polish Centre for Accreditation and the institute;
  • Publication of results of own research at conferences, symposia and seminars in Poland and abroad, as well as the development and publication of new test methods in national and international scientific and technical journals;
  • Preparation of expert reports and technical opinions;
  • Participation in the work of Technical Committees of the Polish Committee for Standardization (PKN) and in the activities of the Polish Association of Testing Laboratories POLLAB;
  • Organization of specialist training courses for companies;
  • Participation in conferences, symposia, seminars, trade fairs and exhibitions.

Complaints regarding performed tests will be considered if submitted within 1 month from the date of delivery of the test report to the client. The content of the complaints handling procedure is made available upon request of the interested party.
