Marcin Górski appointed as new director of Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology

Following an open qualification procedure and a positive opinion from the Council of Łukasiewicz Institute – Łódź Institute of Technology, under the leadership of Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of Łódź University of Technology, the President of the Łukasiewicz Centre appointed Prof. Marcin Górski to the position of Director of Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology.

Marcin Górski, DSc, a professor at the University of Łódź and attorney-at-law, is a scientist and experienced manager. Since 2006, he has been managing teams of employees, and from 2012 to 2025, he served as Director of the Legal Department of the Municipal Office of Łódź. Professor Górski is the author of nearly 200 scientific publications and a Fulbright scholarship holder at Fordham University in New York. Since 2024, he has also served as an ad hoc judge at the European Court of Human Rights.

In turn, the function of Deputy Director for Research at Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology has been taken up by Prof. Renata Żyłła, a Doctor of Science in technical sciences, who has been working at the Institute for over 20 years and is the Director of the Centre for Circular Economy at Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology. She conducts research and development work in the field of water and sewage management in the broadest sense. She specializes in industrial wastewater treatment technologies and the removal of hazardous substances from water, in particular using membrane techniques and advanced oxidation. She is the co-author of over 30 publications from the JCR list.
