Scientists from Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology participated in the 3rd “Science for Society” Congress, which took place on 25-26 May at the Warsaw University of Technology. The event was an important forum dedicated to the role of science in social, economic, and innovative development.
Participation in the congress was an opportunity to present the results of research and implementation work of our teams – solutions that have a real impact on improving the quality of life, the development of modern technologies, and the increase in competitiveness of the Polish economy. Two innovative implementations prepared by scientists from Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology were honoured with awards:
- An eco-friendly composite material made from mycelium grown on waste. Authors of the implementation: Katarzyna Miśkiewicz M. Sc.(Eng), Iwona Masłowska-Lipowicz PhD, Magdalena Lasoń-Rydel DEng, Katarzyna Ławińska PhD, DSc Eng.
- Active therapeutic footwear dedicated to patients with diabetic foot syndrome. Authors of the implementation: Katarzyna Ławińska PhD, DSc Eng., Iwona Masłowska Lipowicz DEng, Robert Gajewski PhD, Katarzyna Piotrowska Mag.
The awards were handed out by Karolina Zioło-Pużuk PhD, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Visitors to the congress also had the opportunity to learn about our projects and research achievements at the stand of the Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology.
