Instrumental Chemical Analysis Laboratory
The Instrumental Chemical Analysis Laboratory is accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation in accordance with the requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02
“General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”, within the scope of chemical testing and testing of physical properties of textile products.
The Laboratory also holds accreditation from the Ministry of National Defence in the field of defence and security (OiB) for compliance with the above-mentioned standard.
The Laboratory also holds accreditation from the Ministry of National Defence in the field of defence and security (OiB) for compliance with the above-mentioned standard.
The Laboratory is equipped with highly specialized instrumentation, employs qualified personnel, and ensures independent, impartial and reliable testing, supported by an implemented management system compliant with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02.
The Instrumental Chemical Analysis Laboratory performs tests of textile products at any stage of processing, such as fibres, slivers, yarns, woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, nonwovens, finished products and wound dressing materials, in accordance with PN, PN-EN & PN-EN ISO standards, as well as in-house test procedures.
Core offer of accredited tests (within PCA and OiB scope):
- Determination of fibre composition of textile products according to the methods specified in Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 September 2011, as amended.
The test methods specified in this regulation take precedence over standardized methods and are used, inter alia, to verify compliance/non-compliance with manufacturers’ declarations. - Colour fastness to physico-chemical agents, such as washing, water, acidic and alkaline perspiration, dry and wet rubbing, organic solvents, seawater and chlorinated water.
- Colour fastness to artificial light and colour fastness to artificial weathering (with simulated rainfall).
- Testing for assessment of safety of use of textile products, including determination of hazardous substances listed in legal regulations (including Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH)), such as the following:
- formaldehyde
- heavy metals
- azo dyes capable of releasing carcinogenic aromatic amines from MAK Group IIIA1 and IIIA2, and 4-aminoazobenzene
- pesticides
- pentachlorophenol
- phthalates
- dyes with allergenic and carcinogenic properties*.
- determination of pH of aqueous extracts.
- Determination of fat content, non-fibrous substances and finishing oils*.
- Protective properties against UV radiation (UPF)*.
* Test not covered within the scope of OiB accreditation No. 44/MON/2024.
* Test not covered within the scope of OiB accreditation No. 44/MON/2024.
- Measurement of light transmission through flat textile products in the wavelength range 400–700 nm, and through plastic pharmaceutical packaging in the wavelength range 290–450 nm.
- Chemical cleanliness testing of cellulose-based hygienic products.
