Lukasiewicz Research Network – Lodz Institute of Technology declares the application of equal opportunity policy aimed at promoting full and equal access and participation among employees in all areas of social life and professional activities regardless of gender, race, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, political beliefs, union affiliation or form of employment.

The Gender Equality Plan (GEP) of Lukasiewicz – Lodz Institute of Technology, developed for 2022-26, is one of the tools for creating a safe work environment at the institute free of discrimination, where diversity is treated as a special value.

The intention (of developing) the Plan is to ensure that all employees are free to develop professionally, scientifically and personally, among other things, by understanding the various aspects of gender equality and the nature of the various roles that scientists of all genders perform. The Plan is intended to make it easier for them to reconcile their scientific and other duties in an atmosphere of security, not just economic security.

Of particular importance in the institute’s GEP Plan, are four areas:

  • Increasing the level of knowledge among employees on equality issues and strengthening positive attitudes toward diversity.
  • Include the gender dimension (aspect) in the content of the research conducted and innovations developed
  • Balanced support for the development of careers for women and men, with a particular focus on scientific careers
  • Support to maintain a balance in combining work and non-work life, with a particular focus on caring for children and other family members.
