Laboratory of Textile Ecology Testing
The Laboratory of Textile Ecology Testing is accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02 for chemical testing and the assessment of performance properties of textile products.
The laboratory’s core activity is the testing of textile products at various stages of processing (fibres, yarns, woven fabrics, knitted fabrics and nonwovens), as well as finished products (accessories, jewellery and toys) in the following areas:
- assessment of product safety through the determination of hazardous substances covered by legal requirements, including Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH) and the Toy Safety Directive;
- assessment of textile performance through testing of colour fastness to selected physical and chemical factors.
Test Methods within the Scope of Accreditation
Product Safety Assessment
- determination of pH of aqueous extracts
- determination of free and hydrolysed formaldehyde by aqueous extraction
- determination of the total content of heavy metals (arsenic, mercury, lead and cadmium)
- determination of heavy metals extractable by artificial perspiration
- testing for the migration of certain elements (toy safety)
- determination of pentachlorophenol (PCP)
- determination of certain aromatic amines derived from azo colorants
- determination of dimethyl fumarate (DMFu)
- determination of phthalates
- determination of organotin compounds
- determination of solvent residues: formamide, dimethylformamide (DMF), 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) and dimethylacetamide (DMAc)
- determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)
Assessment of Textile Performance
- testing of colour fastness to:
- acidic and alkaline perspiration
- saliva and perspiration
- water
- domestic and commercial laundering
- organic solvents
- dry cleaning
- hot pressing
- dry and wet rubbing
- determination of oil repellency
Test Methods outside the Scope of Accreditation
