Leather and Leather-like Materials Testing Laboratory
The Leather and Leather-like Materials Testing Laboratory of the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Łódź Institute of Technology holds PCA accreditation No. AB 033 and OiB accreditation No. 57/MON/2023, confirming compliance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02.
Tests are performed using methods harmonized with EU standards and in-house procedures.
Within the scope of accreditation, the Laboratory performs physical, chemical, hygienic, durability and resistance tests of the following:
- Soft and hard leathers: natural, regenerated, synthetic, fur, wet-blue and crust, intended for footwear components, upholstery, protective articles, clothing, gloves and leather goods;
- Textile materials and coated fabrics intended for footwear components (uppers, linings, collars, tongues, insoles, fillings).
SERVICES OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF ACCREDITATION
Outside the accreditation scope, the laboratory performs a wide range of physical, chemical and hygienic tests in accordance with Polish, European and international standards, as well as proprietary procedures. It also provides consultancy on test methods, applicable standards, and quality assessment of leather materials and products, and conducts tests supporting the research and development activities of ŁIT.

Complaints regarding performed tests will be considered if submitted within 1 month from the date of delivery of the test report to the client. The content of the complaints handling procedure is made available upon request of the interested party.
