UV Stop

A certificate authorizing the labeling of a product with the “UV STOP®” mark may be obtained by products that meet the requirements in terms of design, ergonomics, performance, and providing UV protection properties described in the criteria. The certificate can be granted for textile products (T-shirts, sweatshirts, gaiters, pants, headgear, gloves, hand pads), made of natural, artificial, synthetic fibers or their mixtures.

The specific requirements that constitute the safety of UV-protective products concern:

  • Barrier index (W) for clothing that protects against UV radiation emitted by an artificial light source
  • UPF and UVA ratings for clothing intended for use in sun exposure
  • design and ergonomics
  • water vapor resistance
  • changes in dimensions after washing
  • puncture resistance, tearing strength, rupture strength
  • resistance of staining to sweat, to friction
  • The pH of an aqueous solution or the pH of an extract in artificial sweat,
  • aromatic amine content

The requirements are specified in technical criteria KT 12/15.

Complaints

Complaints about the activities of the Textil-Cert Certification Department and any activity performed during the certification process, as well as appeals against decisions made by the Certification Department may be addressed to Director Łukasiewicz – ŁIT in accordance with procedure CP-05 ″Complaints and Appeals” (available upon request).
